Features Shelmon

Shelmon is a mobile application designed for large carnivore mappers - volunteers, professional biologists or nature guards.
It allows parallel recording of the track (transects) into GPX and simultaneously storing findings: especially large carnivore characters, taking pictures and recording other information.
However, it is also possible to specify the occurrence of other animal species, even separately without a track.All information can be sent to the web interface of Beasts of Prey, where they can be further edited and sent to coordinators of large beasts monitoring for approval.Successful login to the application requires prior registration at www.selmy.cz.
Please contact us at [email protected] for registration.The application was developed by Hnutí DUHA Olomouc in cooperation with the Agency for Nature Conservation and Landscape Protection of the Czech Republic within the project “Monitoring of European Carnivorous Species in Selected Natura 2000 Sites” supported by a grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
Further development of the application took place within the project "Coexistence with large carnivores in the Czech Republic", supported under the Operational Program Environment, when version 1.1 with extended functions was created.Records of the occurrence of species entered via Shelmon are, after validation, continuously exported to the Nature Conservation Database.
